Why switch from paper-based instruction to remote instruction?
During the initial 3 week "Stay at Home" order we did not have to complete instruction week 1 (calamity days) or week 2 (spring break), but did have to complete 60 minutes of daily instruction week 3 (paper-based instruction). This work was able to be provided in paper form due to teacher access to school resources and students. Now that the "Stay at Home" order has been extended to the rest of the year, we are required to continue to complete 60 minutes of daily instruction (online). This work has to be provided online due to lack of teacher access to school resources and students.
What if I don't have access to a computer or the internet?
To measure accessibility, each family was given the Computer and Internet Access Survey. Those that did not have a computer were invited to pick one up at school. Those that did not have internet were encouraged to sign up for Spectrum's "COVID-19 Remote Education Credit".
